Casino Regina Station Poker Classic Schedule

The third of four events at the Station Poker Classic is now in the books. After more than 15 hours of poker, Chris Wallmuth was the player with all the chips at the end.

The Show Lounge at Casino Regina was host to 218 entries in the third event of the series. That put $156,960 into the prize pool to be split between the top 22 finishers.

Quite a few big names showed up for the bounty event, and many fell short of the money. A few of the notable players to try but fail to cash included last year's winner, Chris Bowers, as well as Cindy Kerslake, Phil Riley, Adrian Baran, Fred Pynn, and Daniel Lamb, among others.

It took more than 12 hours for the money bubble to burst, and it happened rather dramatically. Bob Mullen got his chips in bad preflop with pocket jacks against a pair of rockets, but he flopped the set and his opponent was unable to catch up. That guaranteed the rest of the field at least $1,819.

It took another two hours set up the final table, and once again, there was a familiar name sitting at the top of the chip stacks. Thomas Taylor has been crushing tournaments pretty much everywhere he goes recently, and this trip to Regina has been no different. After finishing second in Event #2, Taylor was once again cruising through the field, hitting the final table with more than twice as many chips as any other player.

Ultimately Taylor would have to settle for fourth place. He ran into the bigger ace of the eventual runner up, Moon Yuen, and had to settle for $12,369 for his second final table appearance out of three tournaments here in Regina.

That left just Scott Moskal, Moon Yuen, and Chris Wallmuth sitting with chips, and it didn't take long to finish it off. Yuen got his final few chips in against the ace high of Wallmuth and wasn't able to improve. All the payouts for the final table are below.
